REVIEW OF OUT OF HEAVEN
Out of Heaven By Amy Bright Reviewed by Caitlin Bentley
The Archangel Gabriel and the woman had been lovers since time immemorial. Whenever she had gone down to Earth to experience mortal lives, he missed her with a longing so fierce that he wanted to love her as a mortal would.
Given twenty-four hours to experience mortal life, Gabriel goes down to Earth. There, he encounters Jane, who thinks Gabriel is the sexiest man alive. Jane and Gabriel spend time with each other, and fall in love quickly. Can their twenty-four hours together grow into a forever kind of love?
Amy Bright writes with a great sensitivity and a deft touch. Gabriel and Jane are well drawn characters, and the sensual tension resonates throughout the book. This is also a very emotional read. I cried throughout. Overall, I recommend this book.

The Duke of Desperation by Kelli Daymore is a sensual read from beginning to end.
Steven Newell, the Duke of Pemberton is a miserable, wretch of a man left desperate and alone one year after the death of his wife and child. The pathetic plans to end his life run into a snag when the lovely Lila Carlisle wanders into his garden and his life. But is Steven too ruined from his guilt and desolation to allow a beautiful and innocent girl the opportunity to give him a reason to live?
Kelli’s novella is a sweeping story of love, redemption, and forgiveness written with a sensual eye to detail. Her descriptions bring Victorian England to life, and her characters are vivid in both their grief and growing affection for each other. The love scenes will leave you breathless and eager for more.
Kelli has penned a sensual read that will satisfy any reader seeking a hot, historical romance.

The Groom’s Cake is a charming story about a pastry baker with skills so divine as to make or break a wedding depending on her availability and the whims of her fussy, ancient oven. Once Imogene Spunkwuzzle declares that she won’t bake another morsel until her oven is replaced, Charlie Whatnot’s pending wedding to Penelope Rose is in a desperate situation.
Charlie and his friends come up with an ill-conceived plan to earn the money to purchase the new oven and save his wedding. As one would predict, the course of true love does not go smoothly.
Jacqueline has written a very amusing tale with a witty writing style reminiscent of Carson McCullers or Mark Twain. Her sense of foreshadowing is quite deft and her dialogue masterful. I was drawn in from the very beginning with the over-the-top description of Imogene the baker and was carried through to the end with Jacqueline’s humorously drawn antics of the entire town of Crabapple Grove.
This is a delightful story that I heartily recommend to anyone looking for a quick read to put you in a good mood.
